The Mime 04:22
The Mime Now the mime is walking circles, In a box made out of air. Outside a storm is brewing, Leaves are blowing everywhere. Around the corner fate steps in, And tells you what you need. A faithful pig drags down the street, He is sowing his own seed. I’d love to tell you more or less, Or more than you might need. I’d like to crack a silver bell, Or ride a bareback steed. And things continue down a path, A path of broken dreams. And lamps have shades to keep the glare, From bursting out in streams. Thinking of times of olde, When laughs and dreams were made of gold. And I remember your pretty face, Outside the gates of the land of grace. We wrote our names upon the wall, Like those before, come one, come all. And that was Memphis, Tennessee, Along the banks of the Mississippi, baby. I think that I should tell you babe, That I do lie to myself. I think that when I turn around, I put you on a shelf. These images deep in my mind, Of life and love and thee, Are wrenching forth out of my soul, And taking over me. I need to break the quiet line, The place of want and need, And move myself to brighter days, To a more eternal speed. And if the turn of this small prayer, Could take me off my knees, I’d wish for you a safe return, To life upon a breeze.

Shoreline In Jersey Shoreline in Jersey, With shells at my feet. Coffee’s getting colder, But it’s sweet, oh so sweet. And the sun is rising, As I sit here and I’m pining, In Jersey, in Jersey. Seagull is dancing, As the water starts to creep. Searching for a meal now, As the water retreats. And the cycles dividing, And it’s my time that I’m biding, In Jersey, in Jersey. Tracing the horizon, Where the ocean and sky meet. Water looks peaceful, But it’s a circus not far beneath. And it sure feels funny, All the diversions caused by money. Think of where we’d be, how we’d see. Remembering the shooting stars, On a blanket amongst the cars. Indiana was a start, By New York you stole my heart. And Debbi G she called you “sweet pea”, And the memory still warms me, As I sit here, yeah, I sit here, In New Jersey, in New Jersey. Singing and thinking, And trying to retreat. Away from the patterns, That stunt the speech, Of my soul and don’t you know, That’s it’s embracing the soul, Of Jersey, of Jersey. And the water’s getting closer, As the tide climbs up the beach. And my fingers are getting tired, Of playing the songs to relieve, The pain and the stain, Life’s love lessons and refrain, In Jersey, In Jersey. Shoreline in Jersey, With shells at my feet. Searching for a meal now, As the water retreats, Out of the darkness and the cold, Digging the daggers out of my soul, Goodbye New Jersey, goodbye New Jersey.

A Quiet Pun 04:25
A Quiet Pun Roof top gazing, down the alley, Waiting mind for things to come. Back in time to the Telluride valley, Beauty glistens and off it runs. And it comes down to a story, Long ago when time was young, On a level plain, in a theatre, I pressed forward and out you sung: “Take me back to California, To the balancing, setting sun, On a road so narrow and winding, Like a quilt that’s been perfectly strung.” Wooden planks, discolored and weathered, Reminds me of many, many things to come. Over/under, the bets placed already. Beauty reflects in your chosen one. And I’ll tell you a tiny secret, Or maybe it’s really just a quiet pun: Faith is lost in those who observe it, When opinions harden and lie undone. “Take me back to California, To the balancing, setting sun, On a road so narrow and winding, Like a quilt that’s been perfectly strung.” “Take me back to California, To the balancing, setting sun, On a road so narrow and winding, Like a quilt that’s been perfectly strung. Take me back to California, To the balancing, setting sun, On a road so narrow and winding, Like a quilt that’s been perfectly strung.” Roof top gazing, down the alley, Waiting mind for things to come…

Brothers & Sisters The stars in the sky that lie above, Looking down with lots of love, They're all brothers and sisters, They're all brothers and sisters. The stars in the sky that lie above, Looking down with lots of love, They're all brothers and sisters, They're all brothers and sisters to me. So far away, so far away, So far away , so far away from me. And as I stand out on the beach, I meditate to every beat. The waves cycle in, cycle out, And the sun just turns around. I think of you, so far from me, Across an ocean and in my dreams. The waves cycle in, cycle out, And the moon, the moon, just turns around, ...and around, and around, and around... So far away, so far away, So far away, so far away, from me. And even on a cloudy night, When I can’t make out one star’s light, I know they’re out there lying, And the wind keeps sighing. Embrace me now and lead me through, A maze of thoughts and visions true, And I’ll simply adore you, so far away, So far away, so far away, so far away from me. The stars in the sky that lie above, Looking down with lots of love, They're all brothers and sisters, They're all brothers and sisters. The stars in the sky that lie above, Looking down with lots of love, They're all brothers and sisters, They're all brothers and sisters to me.

Relax 03:34
Relax Broken dreams, empty beams, So it goes, it will pass. Your little ways, of making things less grey, I wait to see, where it leads. You came to me then, on a heavy wind, So now it’s time, to see what we might find. It’s hard to wait and see, what you really need, Cause you never know, which way you’ll go. My simple dreams, and little schemes, Must take a path, breath in, relax. My simple dreams, and little schemes, Must take a path, breath in, relax. My simple dreams, and little schemes, Must take a path, breath in, relax.

Many A Girl (Back Of A Sail) Run away, run away, little French girl, You know that you’re making me sick? That ego hurts your posture, Like a communist stuck in a ditch. With the trials and the journeys, That we’ve been through, I would hope you could see where I am, Fly away, fly away, lift up with the wind, Tomorrow’s on the back of a sail! Back of a sail, back of a sail, Tomorrow’s on the back of a sail! Run away, run away, little gypsy girl, The weather is turning again. Your mother is calling you home now, And it really is time for a trip. Oh I’ll miss your words, And your soft gentle touch, Late nights have been really a gas. Fly away, fly away, lift up with the wind, Tomorrow’s on the back of a sail! Back of a sail, back of a sail, Tomorrow’s on the back of a sail! Carry on, carry on, oh sly little girl, With your beauteous, curious lips. Your laughter fills up the ballroom, Humbleness your greatest gift. And you soar through the sky, On your tiny white cloud, It’s really a sight, oh, to see. Fly away, fly away, lift up with the wind, Tomorrow’s on the back of a sail! Back of a sail, back of a sail, Tomorrow’s on the back of a sail! Back of a sail, back of a sail, Tomorrow’s on the back of a sail! So this was the story of many a girl, And there’s many a girl left to meet. This one’s an artist and this one’s a waitress, And this one she begs on the street. Oh, all of them search through their lives, Till they find, a combination, or maybe a key: Fly away, fly away, lift up with the wind, Tomorrow’s on the back of a sail! Back of a sail, back of a sail, Tomorrow’s on the back of a sail! Back of a sail, back of a sail, Tomorrow’s on the back of a sail! Back of a sail, back of a sail, Tomorrow’s on the back of a sail!

Many Things & Many Scenes Feeling run down, feeling lost, Feeling tired, like I can’t get across. Feeling hungry, yeah, and a little unsure, Then I hear your voice, and I hear your words. Where did you come from? Yeah, I wanna know. Where are you going? Don’t go. At least for a while, until you might see, That right here is where you just, Might want to be. It’s pretty late for me to get off work. Took a little longer than I thought it would, Kinda felt like a jerk. Oh, but you were waiting, up on the porch, You had a fire, I had a torch... So then started a little adventure, Oh I can see, I’ll just hold my thoughts right now, And let the future carry me. And life is made up of, Many things & many scenes, Many Jack Daniels, Maker’s Marks, Whiskey Gingers & Jim Beams. Those elixirs, in life, cannot displace, A simple smile, and a simple embrace. Now as this song comes to an end, Can’t wait to stare in your eyes, And begin again.

Dreams Elope 03:40
Dreams Elope I am just passing though for a moment. I hope you don’t mind, But I’m tired, and I’m checking you out. The place I thought my soul, Has been shaken, I was mistaken. Now I look out the window, On the horizon, of possibilities. Things work themselves out, If you nurture and feed them. And pull yourself close, So it’s your breath, that I breathe in. I lay in bed at night, and I’m thinking, I’m just thinking, About the things in life that bring love to me. And I feel drunk but I’ve not been drinking. Thoughts turn to clouds, And I smile as I fall asleep. Things work themselves out, If you nurture and feed them. And pull yourself close, So it’s your breath that I breathe in. And there’ve been things in my life, I wished were different, so different. A puzzle of pieces, And many questions within it. Now I wouldn’t change one thing, It’s all been made so clear to me: All those experiences, made the best of me, And I’ll fly on a melody, Dreams elope in front of me, Take my wing now and you can see, That the future is anything... Wake up, stretch out, and shake the cobwebs, It’s time to move to the next city. And I am just passing though for a moment. I hope you don’t mind, But I’m tired, and I’m checking you out.

Cloudy Mind 04:48
Cloudy Mind Mark my address, And write me a letter. And please mail it, Just as soon as you can. Because I’m gonna miss you, It’s kinda hard to let go, Trembling hands, And a cloudy mind. Seems kinda strange, But it’s natural, like the rain. Feeling very blue, Just thinking... of you. But now the storm has passed. It left me rattled. It shook out things, I didn’t know were there. So I’ll keep on trying, Like I’ve gotta, And remember that heart shaped rock, That I placed in your hand. Seems kinda strange, But it’s natural, like the rain. Feeling very blue, Just thinking... of you. “愛してる. いつもあなたのことを考えている.” “I love you. I am always thinking about you.“

Mirror, Mirror A righteous dream, a petty thought, A batted lash, and you got caught. And over there the light seeps through, From under cracks and edges true. So paint for me a story, if you can, When life was plain but plenty grand, Before the times when I got lost, When life was lived at any cost. I’ll share with you a piece of fruit, And offer you word or two. I’ll shape for you tiny little clues. I’ll sing to you my worried blues, I’ll sing to you my worried blues, When all that’s missing are the pointed cues, Of painted lies and diluted truths. Oh mirror, mirror if you could, Reflect the piece of me that’s good. I’ll promise you my weight in gold, To know the things that mirrors know. As gardens wither up and die, Winter shares it’s bitter eye. In spring I’ll meet you in the dew, Of morning’s prayers we hardly knew. I’ll share with you a piece of fruit, And offer you word or two. I’ll shape for you tiny little clues. I’ll sing to you my worried blues, I’ll sing to you my worried blues, When all that’s missing are the pointed cues, Of painted lies and diluted truths. I’ll share with you a piece of fruit, And offer you word or two. I’ll shape for you tiny little clues. I’ll sing to you my worried blues, I’ll sing to you my worried blues, When all that’s missing are the pointed cues, Of painted lies and diluted truths.
